Missing a CRA deadline can mean penalties and interest — even if you don\’t owe much. Here are the key dates to have on your calendar.
Personal Tax Returns
Most individuals must file by April 30. If you or your spouse are self-employed, the filing deadline extends to June 15 — but any balance owing is still due April 30.
Quarterly Installments
If you owe more than $3,000 in tax two years in a row, the CRA may require quarterly installments due March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15.
Corporate Returns
Corporations must file within six months of their fiscal year-end, though any balance owing is typically due within two or three months depending on the corporation type.
